How it works
What glutathione is, in plain terms
Glutathione is a small protein your cells build from three amino acids — cysteine, glycine and glutamine. It sits at the center of how the body neutralizes free radicals and processes what it needs to clear, and the liver uses more of it than any other tissue. Levels tend to fall with age, illness and sustained stress. Taken by mouth, most of it is broken down before it is absorbed, which is why it is usually given by injection.
- Neutralizes free radicalsGlutathione is the body's primary intracellular antioxidant, buffering oxidative stress.
- Used in liver detoxification pathwaysThe liver relies on glutathione in the pathways it uses to process and clear compounds.
- Supports skin and immune functionPeople commonly use it for skin clarity and elasticity, and for general immune support.
- Delivered directlyInjection bypasses digestion, where oral glutathione is largely broken down.
Who tends to choose it
People often add glutathione when they want antioxidant and detoxification support alongside the rest of their routine, or for skin clarity and elasticity. It pairs easily with NAD+ or MIC+B12 if your provider thinks that fits.
Glutathione is used to support wellness. It is not a treatment for any disease, not a substitute for medical evaluation, and individual results vary.

Important safety information
What to know before starting
This is a summary, not a substitute for the guidance your provider and pharmacy will give you. Read all materials that come with your medication and ask your provider about anything you don't understand.
⚠ Safety & who should talk to a provider first
Not FDA-approved: Compounded glutathione is prepared by a state-licensed pharmacy for an individual patient. It is not FDA-approved for safety and effectiveness, and use for detoxification, skin or general wellness is off-label.
Tell your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have asthma (injected glutathione has been associated with bronchospasm in people with asthma), have a sulfur or sulfite sensitivity, have kidney or liver disease, or take other medications and supplements.
Possible side effects may include injection-site reactions (redness, tenderness), nausea, cramping, or headache. Skin lightening has been reported with prolonged use. Serious allergic reactions are rare.
Seek care for signs of an allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling, trouble breathing), wheezing, or any severe or unusual symptoms. Report side effects to your provider and to the FDA at fda.gov/medwatch or 1-800-FDA-1088.
Questions
Glutathione FAQ
How much does glutathione cost?
Glutathione is $119/mo, with supplies included and no membership or insurance required. Your provider confirms your schedule and price at your visit, always before any charge.
How is it taken?
As a small subcutaneous injection on a weekly schedule your provider sets. Syringes and prep pads are included.
Why not take it as a pill?
Oral glutathione is largely broken down in digestion before it reaches your cells, which is why injection is the common route.
Will it change my skin?
DonoMed does not prescribe glutathione for skin lightening or for any cosmetic purpose, and makes no claim about its effect on pigmentation. Lightening has been reported as a side effect with prolonged use — see the safety information above.
How long until I notice anything?
Most people who notice a difference describe it in the first few weeks — usually in energy and skin clarity. Antioxidant support is a background effect rather than something you feel switch on, so glutathione is best judged over a couple of months. Individual results vary.
Can I combine it with NAD+ or MIC+B12?
Often, yes. Tell your provider about every medication and supplement you take, including anything from another prescriber — they review the whole list and will tell you what makes sense together and what to avoid.
Who reviews my care?
The same licensed provider guides your protocol each time, so your plan builds on what's working for you rather than starting over with someone new.
