Report a Side Effect

Tell us about any side effect — even a mild one.

If this is an emergency, call 911 now. Do not email or text. Signs of an emergency include trouble breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or throat, chest pain, fainting, severe or unrelenting abdominal pain, persistent vomiting with signs of dehydration, or any symptom that frightens you.

Tell us about any side effect, even a mild one, and even if you are not sure it is related to your medication. It changes how your provider manages your dose, and it is how problems get caught early.

How to reach us

  • Emergency — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Tell us afterward.
  • Urgent but not an emergency — call or text (813) 733-8356.
  • Non-urgent — email Support@DonoMed.com or send a message through your patient portal.

Do not send emergency or time-sensitive information by email. Email is not monitored continuously.

Stop and call if you have

  • Signs of an allergic reaction — rash, hives, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or trouble breathing or swallowing
  • Severe or persistent abdominal pain, especially pain that radiates to your back
  • Vomiting or diarrhea that stops you keeping fluids down
  • A lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, or trouble swallowing
  • Changes in vision
  • Symptoms of low blood sugar — shakiness, sweating, confusion, fast heartbeat
  • Redness, warmth, swelling, or drainage at an injection site
  • Anything else that feels wrong to you

Medication-specific warnings are in the Important Safety Information for your treatment. Read it before you start and keep it where you can find it.

What to tell us

It helps to have: your name and date of birth; the medication and your current dose; the date of your most recent injection; when the symptom started and what it feels like; whether it is getting better, worse, or staying the same; and any other medications or supplements you are taking.

What happens next

Your provider reviews every report. You will hear back within one business day, and sooner for anything urgent. Your provider may adjust or pause your dose, ask you for more information, arrange a live phone or video visit, or refer you for in-person evaluation. Every report is documented in your medical record. Where appropriate, we notify the dispensing pharmacy and report the event to the FDA.

Reporting to the FDA

You can also report a side effect directly to the FDA, and you do not need our permission to do so. FDA MedWatch: fda.gov/medwatch or 1-800-FDA-1088.

Reporting a problem with the medication itself

If the medication looks discolored, cloudy, or contains particles, if the vial or pen is damaged, or if the label is wrong, do not use it. Contact us and we will replace it at no cost — see Shipping & Delivery.

Mental health

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Please also tell your provider — mood changes can matter to your treatment plan.
